HISTORY: Founded in July 2003 by the trading, sales and structuring teams of Bank of America in Brazil, aiming to provide to its clients: i) investment and treasury products advisory, ii) risk management solutions and iii) investment management services.
SERVICES & PRODUCTS: CAPITÂNIA, a company not related to any financial institution, offers to corporations, financial institutions, institutional investors and high net worth individuals the following services and products:
I) ASSET MANAGEMENT: trough the multi-strategies hedge funds Capitânia Hedge, Capitânia Treasury and Capitânia Long Short 30, CAPITÂNIA aims to deliver to investors products focused in arbitrage and relative value strategies rather than macro/directional trades. The funds are focused in local Brazilian stock market.
Capitânia HEDGE FIM: moderate risk/return profile multi-strategy local hedge fund, CAPITÂNIA HEDGE aims to generate returns in excess of its benchmark (the Brazilian Interbank Overnight Interest Rate, also known as CDI CETIP Rate) in the medium and long terms. The fund concentrates its portfolio in arbitrage strategies in the Brazilian markets.
Capitânia TREASURY FIM: high risk/return profile multi-strategy local hedge fund, CAPITÂNIA TREASURY aims to generate returns in excess of its benchmark (the Brazilian Interbank Overnight Interest Rate, also known as CDI CETIP Rate) in the medium and long terms. The fund concentrates its portfolio in arbitrage, relative value strategies and can make directional bets in the Brazilian markets.
Capitânia LONG SHORT 30 FIM: high risk/return profile multi-strategy local hedge fund, CAPITÂNIA LONG SHORT 30 aims to generate returns in excess of its benchmark (the Brazilian Interbank Overnight Interest Rate, also known as CDI CETIP Rate) in the medium and long terms. The fund concentrates its portfolio in relative value, pairs trading and can take, higher than Capitânia Treasury, directional bets.
CAPITÂNIA ASSET MANAGEMENT has also a long-only equity fund, CAPITANIA EQUITIES FIA, which aims to achieve long term capital appreciation by investing in Brazilian stock market.
II) ADVISORY: CAPITÂNIA provides advisory services on treasury products, risk management and investments to corporations, financial institutions, institutional investors and high net worth individual doing business in Brazil. Currently, the advisory area manages over BRL 1 billion in managed accounts and private portfolios both on the onshore and offshore markets.
III) SECURITIZATION & ASSET-BACKED SECURITIES: CAPITÂNIA offers to its client base services such as origination, structuring, distribution and portfolio management of asset-backed funds. The company has expertise in different types of securities, such as financial, commercial and real estate receivables. These services and products are provided through CrediCapital S/A, a joint-venture between Integral Trust and CAPITÂNIA, that manages over R$1 billion in asset-backed funds.
IV) DISTRIBUTION: CAPITÂNIA Asset & Risk Management does provide distribution services through its related company CAPITÂNIA Agentes Autônomos de Investimentos Ltda. CAPITÂNIA aims to offer to local and international investors, distribution of hedge funds, asset backed funds and fixed income securities. CAPITÂNIA provides services to asset managers, banks, family offices, private banking, pension funds, among others.
